X-men III – not a review
I like.
I like how the film tackles the various conflicts that humans (and mutants) can have. The conflicts, in no rank or order:
- internal conflict between government and itself regarding mutant policies
- internal conflict of a man who fathers a mutant child, and of the child who has a human as father
- the conflicting views of a mutant cure – is being a mutant a disease?
- the conflict in mutants who cannot accept who they are – they want the “cure”
- the conflict of who is in control – does your power control you or do you control the power?
- how Magneto recognises and respects Charles Xavier, even though they’re fighting each other
It does draw plenty of parallels into our own life, depicted with a big budget, Hollywood style film. Can you see the parallels in your life?

As a matter of fact..yes.
There’s always argument in the Bipolar Disorder (or manic/Depressive..whichever term you like) whether its a gift or a curse, much like being a mutie.
I’m in the curse camp, myself. Anything I’ve done while stable far outweighs the value of anything I can think of that I’ve done while “wacky”
Seeing X3 at a matinee this weekend. VERY excited.
