my 2009 new year resolution

After putting aside my 2008 year-end holiday to-do list and concentrating on just one resolution, i find myself with this:

Practise Tai Chi daily (at least 20 minutes per block)

I was finding it difficult to just aim for one resolution. There are just so many things that I would like to put on to the list, but if I put more, I’ll achieve less, as with previous years. That, I guess is the paradox of quantity – the more you do, the less you seem to achieve. So, if I were to achieve just this one goal, I think it’ll be a great 2009! I’ll keep the other goals as bonuses if I were to achieve them. My other goals were:

1. read 52 books (that’s one book a week!)

2. run a marathon

I think i’m realistic enough to leave them out for now… :)

Achieving one meaningful thing is enough. If you do that, other things will fall into place.

Thanks Rick. Seems like Steve is using a primary focus as well. I also found something similar through zenhabits.net called the power of less.
